I’ve always been relaly torn when it comes to book trailers. On the one hand, I like to see books advertised to a wider audience that might not, normally, hear about them. But on the other hand, every book trailer I’ve ever seen was relaly kind of hokey and looked like someone with no experience in advertising or graphics got ahold of it (not to mention the melodramatic narrators. I might have seen one, in my whole life, that was good, but like you I don’t remember what book it was about.If I ever saw a relaly good book trailer, I think I’d be jazzed. But it’s difficult to do since there are no visual images to go along with it. I mean, it IS a book and not a movie/tv show. And I doubt publishers would put the sort of budget into it that would allow for more visual trailers, so I just don’t know.

I think Virginia Postrel, who wrote the book The Future and Its Enemies in 1989, had it right when she placed polepe in two camps not based on conservative / liberal but instead whether they were statists (people who don’t want change and favor the status quo) and dynamists. Many things DO need to change, but change is hard. Remember when abolitionists were advocating to stop slavery, many polepe were saying slow down we can’t change that fast.

I have read far more of those than I expected.You slhuod do that first series because I want to know if I slhuod read it. You slhuod do Perks of Being a Wallflower because I want to see what pictures you would draw for it. You slhuod do Catcher in the Rye ONLY if you hated it as much as me and will give it a horrible review, otherwise do something else. Maybe an adult book because you haven’t done any of those? Maybe Tweak because I think it is FAR FAR more inappropriate, and poorly written, and ban worthy (if I believed in banning books) than most of the things on the list.

Personally, I believe that censorship is wrong, because of the block it puts around a reader or writer’s mind. I was (and still currently am) being raised to a family who are strong believers of God. In our household we don’t curse, drink, smoke, ect. Until last year, when I read Ellen Hopkins’ Crank,I had never read a book with more than 200 pages. I first read that book in less than one day. If it wasn’t for these ‘challenged or censored’ books, I never would’ve started reading. I have now read every single Ellen Hopkins book. She is an inspiration for me in my writing and I believe that censorship is wrong. This is a free country…Let the children read what they want to.

Oooh The Name of the Star is SO GOOD! The characters are well developed, the plot keeps moving, and the mystery really keeps you guessing. I love the ending and can’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy.

Forget the book “Go the F**k to Sleep”, a pathetic, soul-less, allegedly rebel, ‘children’s book’. Don’t waste your hard-earned money, instead read a BANNED book like “America Deceived II” by a real rebel and the “World’s Most Hated Author”, E.A. Blayre III.
